Reset/eject cable

Me again. It has been a story of woe!

Installed magic 3 on v 5/6. Used bios clip. Originals booted but no backups. On the advice of the gurus checked out the clip and very unreiable. Removed clip and soldered to the bios chip direct.
Now nothing will boot,black screen and drive turns about 1/4 of a revolution. Checked connections several times and all good ,no bridging contiuity good. The last time I tried the reset/eject buttond didn't want to work properly . Ribbon cable is letting go at switch end from opening machine 1000 times. Jiggled cable once and installed dvd. Machine boot up and away went drive. Too bad I couldn't check video as on bench at time. Tried it again several times and no go. Ribbon pretty well broke off internally.Laser flashes red once on boot ( 1/4 rev.)

Could this be causing my boot problem? Nothing changed since it worked with originals except bios hookup and all good. Cable worked over several times also. New cable on order.

gazdaman has cables if you need. At least i think he still does

Chris at modchip.ca says he has them for $10.00 plus S+H and other normal charges
