Replacing failed DMS install with MI
I just got a new slim from a customer who hot glued his DMS4 to his v12 and installed the neofix. I removed the DMS, repositioned it, removed the neofix ii and installed summ0nes.
After installing the DMS I found the chip wasn't booting. Problably because of the way I wire (I'm not used to making wire highways) and all I had was wire wrap.
So I took it out and found the board was dead. 2nd PS2 I ever killed and both happened to be post attempted DMS installs. Never had issues with infinity.
So I replace the motherboard, test an original game and everything works great. I want to mention that the board was from a failed mod (w was soldered in the wrong place causing it to fry the laser). Anyway, this time it was an MI install and w in the correct place, soldering perfect.
Matrix infinity now boots but will not read and discs. CD or DVD. Haven't tried originals. What's happening is the laser moves down, then right back up again . When a DVD is in there you can hear a faint grinding. I checked and everything was installed correctly, case is is great condition, and worm, rails, track all greased.
Anybody have an Idea of what is going on? it's a 303 so i'm using 560/4.7k summ0ne fix. shall I try to remove the 560? Help! :banghead:
