Replace SMD 683 (summ0ne resistor) on mobo

Hi!

I think something went terrible wrong when i apply subzero fix. because it now has symptoms that it cant read the dvd at all.

So, i removed both the 683 from the mobo, and i guess i can buy something to replace them with? I had this symptoms before, and allways after apply summ0ne fix so thats why ive narrowed it down to those 2 resistors on motherboard.

What resistor do i need to put in there?

I've never had any problems with Summ0ne's fix. Are you saying Summ0ne's fix is causing damage to your laser? Are you sure your customers aren't using bad media?

Hi Tony,

Ive destroyed 4 or 5 mobos after i putted summ0ne/subzero fix on them.
This time im gonna try to fix it.

It always work 100% untill i put on the fix. My iron is only 11w so dont think ive overheated anything.

I read in other post that summ0ne said that those symptoms i had occured IF the resistors lost contact to mobo. Think that happend this time.

So anyone know what resistors to use? Ive removed the smd now from mobo.

All right. A little update from me.
I removed the 2 smd resistors, added 2 new 68k resistors i had laying around.
Still didint work, BUT the spinning was lot better. So i tried replace laser, boom, works!! :)

Your laser probably went because you installed the wrong resistor to it. Maybe it wasn't making connection as well.

I think you are 100% correct Tony.
Since the SMD resistor got loose, it prob ****ed up the laser.
But now everything is good again :)

First mobo ive ****ed up that ive repaired. Im learning, im learning :O

Yes, at any local electronic dealer.

replace the 303/683 with 100k/130k resistors

Says 1003 or 134 on them.

11W is WAY WAY WAY too low..... you are pretty much pressing and hold the solder on the SMD for too low waiting for the rosin to melt

use a 30W to 40W..

it will make life a lot easier.!

I mean 1/4W at +70C is ok?
