04-11-2004,03:08 AMas far as i know you have to replacce with the same laser
my v10 has a 400c.. so im guess if yeah know how to change the firmware on the cd drive chip it can be done
but i havent seen this done yet..
i know right now it hardly makes it worth it to change a h7
50 or 75 bucks more yeah can get a new system..if its not broke dont fix it....
yeah right ....

its held in the cd/dvd controller ic aka mechacon you would need to reverse the protocol and build a serial interface to change anything in this regaurd.
