Replace DMS Explorer in dev mode?

Is it possible to replace DMS Explorer in dev mode with Keylauncher?
If so, how?

just rename keylauncher to BOOT.ELF and copy it to /BOOT

i have a friend who reports that it does not work in dms+, so.. yeah.

Thats what I tried. It didn't work just to rename it. I have DMS3+
