repalcing ps2 ver 4 laser

hi, i just bought new laser 400c that replace my broken one (400b)
i did not find any tutorial that explains how to that ,
so ppl if you could spend some time and help me figure this out

i understand that there is a point that i need to desolder ??? right
my laser looks as it shown in the pic

The area in the top left hand corner, where you can see a solder section with three rows(two lines) That is the area that needs to be desoldered if it is all one blob. without the divisions. If yours looks the same then it id already desoldered.
What I do when I replace a laser is
Replace the spindle arm
Replace the lens angle screw. I screw it in all the way then back it up two turns.
Put the laser in. and adjust the heighth if needed.

if mine is desolder does it means it used?
an other thing is how important is to measure the hight of the spindle arm?

some suppliers remove the solder before they ship.

i thought that it would be harder.....
