Removing solder from copper border?
I am trying to use a 15 watt Radio Shack soldering iron to remove some solder I put on the copper border surrounding the PS2 mainboard. The iron refuses to warm up the entire blob of solder. Is this because heat is dissapating out into the copper border as well? Should I try a higher watt Iron?
When I stick the desoldering braid to the blob, and the iron to the braid, the solder underneath won't melt. It's because I'm trying to heat up the whole copper border isn't it?
