I want to remove my Neo4.1 but wonder about the capacitor that was removed and the cut track. I am sure I can resolder the cut track, but what about the capacitor??? Any help???

you dont resolder the track. you just need to short the 2 wires (i forget the points) together and it should work fine without the capacitor.

You don't just solder the two points that the capacitor was connected to together? Does anyone else know this info???

solder #21 and #33 from the neo4.1 intall .. the cut track will be repaired..

you can find SM capacitor off dead VGA cards, mother board .. what ever .. if you can't fine any .. just leave it .. it should still work..

Thanks so much for the info. You rock! Now hopefully, I have not killed anything or off I go to buy a new PS2!! HA HA. I have actually never had a failed console install and am pretty handy with the solder

The capacitor value is critical and not any ordianry cap can be used. The value is 5.6nF or 0.0056uF, but you need the use of a capacitance meter to make sure you get the correct value from a dud PS2 board or VGA card etc. Some digital multimeters have a capacitance facility you could use, but you need to remove the capacitor from circuit to get an acurate reading. Otherwise you'll be measuring circuit capacitance as well.
