Which modchip do you guys recommend me getting? I'm looking for one that can play most if not all PSX/PS2 game. I am using a fat PS2. I am not sure what is the version number is.
i would suggest a matrix infinity as its the best chip iv'e read about.
The infinity is way above my budget unfortunately. What would you suggest the second best be?
i would also suggest the dms 4 if i was gonna buy a memory card though i'd advise you to avoid the ezi version of it since iv'e heard nothing but bad news about it.....if your not wanting to spend any money and get something close to a modchip there's always fmcb+esr to boot backups.
That was one of my option, but I really want to be able to play some psx backup. My Chrono Cross CD is too scratched up to be able to play =/. Btw, I am new to this forum so I do not know a lot of acronym. What is dms 4? And what do you mean by avoiding ezi version memory cards? I thought a regular Sony PS2 memory card is good enough.
what i ment by ezi is the solderless version of the dms4 and iv'e heard nothing but horror stories about it.....i know what you mean about psx backups i haven't been able to find a way to get them to run on an unmodded ps2 ive even tried the ulaunch method but the laser just bounces off the disk and i never get further than the ps logo lol.....so fmcb wouldnt be good for that situation but the dms4 covers all that.

recommended modchip for v12 and v15 –
Hi guys, i have a slim v12 scph-70011 ps2 and a v15 scph-77001 (cousins ). I was wondering what would be a good mod chip for each or that will work on both? Also what would be a good one to address the v12 laser problem? (I was thinking modbo 4), since it has the extra chip for the laser. And if i buy another chip whats the fix i can do to solve laser issue?
Sorry for noobie questions.. but any help is much appreciated.
