  1. #1 Reading multiple CD-Rs with PS2Reality

    Hi,

I have got PS2reality 1.28e to work on my V7 (European) PS@ with Messiah 2 chip. I boot with a CD-R of PS2Reality, then I put in another CD-R with an avi file once PS2reality is loaded.

I can play the movie, but when I exit, and put another CD into the drive, and got to the browser, it shows nothing?!?! I have to switch off the PS2, and go through the process again... then the CD-R will play (but not the next one I try to play!

Anyone know why? Is it my modchip isn't active at that stage? or is it the PS2Reality software?

Also, does the screen jump around alot in PS2Reality? (Only in the browser, etc... not during the movies )

Sorry fr the long 1st post

    Any help would be great!

    Cheers
    Greg

it jumps around a lot becuase of the format it's in.

i.e It's in NTSC and you are in PAL or the other way around.

then when you play the movie, it's normal because you are probably playing an in-region movie.

Thanks... I'll look into that... (Although my DVD-R NTSC games work perffect, but I'll see what happens for CD-R NTSC games).

The main problem is having to reboot for each movie!

    Is that normal?

I know that PS2Reality 1.25's main screen jumped around a lot... annoys the hell outta me personally... its in the program I think. As for you looking in the browser and seeing nothing - I assume you have tried pressing O? I don't know enough to say whether the M2 disables itself like that, but I'm fairly sure that multi-disc games are meant to work, so I don't think it would be that. If they work when they are the first swap, but not others, then that is very strange! I use a no-solder mostly, and that doesn't even register the tray opening/closing to the PS2 system, and it works fine (except on Mode1 discs). Perhaps the M2s wiring to the eject button is not quite right?

to test whether the chip turns itself off, do this:
start ps2reality and swap as you did for disc 1, go into browser, once it shows the files go back, now swap to disc 2, now check browser.
    give us your results.

Thanks for the help so far...

Fooniman... when I insert disk 2 and check the browser, it doesn't show any files/directories...

It could also be that the 2nd disc is burnt differently. Have you tried putting in the 2nd disc first?

Yep, I've press square... and circle to refresh, but no luck...

I've tried loads of discs... but not luck... its very strange... I'll try some more discs, and I'll also try removing a disc, and then just putting it back in, and see if it has to do with the ejecting.

    Thanks
    Greg
