Does the romeo mod cause the tray eject/load noise to become louder than it is without the romeo mod because it ejects/loads the tray with only 5v from the LA chip or the LA chip has no connection with the tray mechanism?

The 5V (romeo) connection to the LA chip only deals with Laser focusing I believe, and nothing to with the eject mechanism
I'm pretty positive that the Romeo Mod has nothing to do with the eject controls
The Romeo mod puts 5V on the power line of the output amplifiers for ALL the LA chip functions, including the eject mechanism.
and that can cause the tray to struggle more to eject/load and cause more noise?Originally Posted by Emanuel
I don't know if the voltage on the tray motor ever exceeds 5V, even if the LA is powered with 12V. Now it gets a maximum of 4V because of voltage drop across the power amplifiers. This may cause a loss in mechanical power to the motor. But I don't think this would make the loading process noisier.
