  1. #1 Quick Question: Magic 3.1
    PStatchio Guest
Hey, I'm planning on getting a mod chip installed sometime next month, and I recently found someone in my area that can do mod chip installations. Her (yes, she's a she ) prices are:
75$ for the Magic 3.1, or
    165$ for Magic 3.1 + Installation + 30day warranty.

[[ Thats 110USD for modchip + installation, and 50$ USD for the chip alone]]

I know I've been putting out for a DMS3, but I dont think its going to happen for me. Can anyone give me some feedback on this? Is it worth it?

    Thanks

    -PStatchio

You can get a cheaper rate on the Magic3 with install man. That isnt exactly a "bad" price. But Search they buy/sell/trade forums and you can find a cheaper rate from someone who is reputable.

Just curious, say I can't find anyone to install from this other part of the forum, and this person is the only person I know of in my area....Would it be worth it?

Im just pretty much clueless about mod chips >.<

    Thanks

Ok here the tip buy the magic 3.1 your self for $25-$30 shipped in the B/S/T forum (save some $$$) then give her the chip so she can install it and ask how much is for installation only.

    . . .
    Let's see:
The Magic 3.1 cost about $25(If you buy it from less expensive place).
That means she will profit about $140 (more $ probably because she probably gets bulk rates for the chip) for the installation + warranty. That is pricey but her advantage is she is near by and you don't have to pay for shipping cost, also no delivery time delays. Plus if you get a bum chip you don't have to deal with the hassle of shipping it back for exchange. I guess if you don't mind the expensive, a local person can give you better support and service.

I see... okay thanks guy, just one last thing though. Are all these prices in USD or CND ? I will try to purchase the chip alone and ask for installation fee's only.

If she uses homebrew ICE code (Magic), and programs her own chips, your talking $5 in parts. How do you know what she uses unless you open it up? Nice profit margin.

If your going for the DMS3 in the first place !
And you thinking of order a Magic3 chip by your self !

If i where you i order a DMS 3 i've seen them for about $89
And then take it to you local installer and have Her install it
since its almost the same install procedure as Magic 3.
it wont be difficult for her to install it !
Download the instructions from DMS site and give her them as well.
And probably to the same cost as a magic 3 from her.

oggebogge, she said its 100$ for installation of chips bought from elsewhere, and no warranty. But 165$ for magic 3.1 + warranty (30days)

    hhmmm
