Hi, just a quick question, new to PS2 mod scene, although I do have my PSX chipped, so know all about the modchips.
My question is regards the Flip top lid mod that I got today, which so far works flawlessly with the Boot disc, I was wondering though, how I would go about still using my AR2v2 with this system of mod?

I kind of figured that I could still use the AR2 to cheat if I first booted the AR2, chose the codes, then when Ive to swap discs with that, I then insert the Swap Magic Boot disc as if it was the game (opening the tray), then change it for the back-up/import using the flip lid when that requests me to do so.

Would that be correct? Or is there some other way?

I would like to know that too. I know you can't use codes if you use the no-solder/Swap Magic because the Swap disc's restart the booting process. Would it work if you used a flip top to boot the GS then swap with high TOC (DMC) then do the R-MOD swap with the no solder chip? Has anyone tried this?

So since you can't use codes with GS/AR2, swap disc and flip top... would codes work if you load game shark, use flip top for Inserting high TOC game then use a nosolder chip to swap back up?

yeah, if it doesn't boot with one swap, then it won't boot with an extra Swap Magic thrown in there. The Flip Top keeps it from being stored in the memory, a plague of flip top lids. Do yourself a favor, kid, and get a modchip. If you don't want to do that, I suggest a no solder, but those aren't very good for your CD tray. Best of luck!

I still need to know if there's a way to still use AR2 with the flip-top & swap magic disc?? I tried my theory, but it didnt work, codes weren't active in-game. Any suggestions?

ok, this is how it used to work on the 1.9s and older. not sure about how it works with the gs2v2s or newer and not sure about v7 ps2s.

for a cdr, not dvd rip:
    boot up the gs2
load whatever codes you wanted to load
choose to load the game with codes
at the "hit x" screen, open the top and swap in the cdr
    hit x to start game

    for a dvdr:
    boot up the gs2
hit the eject button and replace the gs2 with the swap magic dvd disc, then hit eject again to close the tray
give it like 12 seconds to read the disc
choose to load game with codes
at the "hit x" screen, open the top and swap in the dvdr
    hit x to start game

That's what I did, although, I didn't swap the AR2 disc until the "hit X" screen, so I'll maybe try swapping the disc once the AR2 codelist has loaded & see what happens.
Is it any easier to use cheats with the Xploder2 (UK version of CB2)? Cos Ive got one of those as well, although I'd need to convert all my codes first.

from what i remember before, the xploder disc would not spin down so you could not swap out the discs properly. the gs2 would stop spinning at the "hit x to load game" screen so you could swap there.

Okay, thanks for the help, I'll give it a try again with AR2 & see what happens. They've maybe changed the coding in the SLUS file, so'll I might need to take a look at the codes in PS2DIS to see, if it still fails.
