A question for Guichi
I heard that you have seen the Cyclone chip in action. Since you know have the experience to compare the Cyclone chip to the Messiah2 chip, tell me; is it worth the wait for the Cyclone chip, or is the Messiah2 just as good. Are there really any key difffrences other than multi-region support? Is it better to use the ps2's internal clock rather than one on the chip itself. (Why does the chip need to know the time?... just kidding!;) ) Does Cyclone use the ps2's clock? And finally, (Last question, I promise!) does the Cyclone have the same "shut-off" capabilities as the messiah2?
Thanks a ton!
Sorry, a post-note: I'm guessing that the Cyclone has it's own clock as it has only 22 wires to soldier; although if it's diffrent enough I guess the number of wires is irrelevent.
See, Im not the only one Guchi m8
Sorry 'bout the confusion Guichi, I read in some post, somewhere that you had seen the Cyclone in action. And yes, I am crazy... so crazy i scare myself. ;)
i don't think it is better for it to use the clock on the ps2, but it does make the chip cheaper. On the downside it adds another wire.... I think most of the next generation chips do it though, to get the price below $50.
