Question about converting to Magic 3.1
Question about converting to Magic 3.1 –

Hey guys quick question. I have a Magic 2 in my ver 5 ps2 and I want to go to a magic 3.1. If I take the wires off the 2 and just swap the chips and tape off the one wire not needed would it work this way. I want to keep the one wire not needed intact so if I decide to go back or put in a diff chip.
Please give any feedback related to this topic, thanks guys
Nathaniel

just don't let the wire touch anything else...tape off the end...and prolly tape it down so it doesn't move, and it should work just fine...i'd be a little hesitant to leave the 3.3v wire just dangling around though...even with the tape, you never know what could happen, and you don't want things exploding
....it's an easy point to have redone in the future if you wanted to revert back to the 2, which i don't think you'll want to....

Along those same lines, heres another question. I currently have a magic2 clone in my v5, what about swapping to a Messiah 2? And the chip I have is currently mounted outside the cage, is it still possible to mount the Messiah 2 there?
Now granted I am just asking, and I haven't looked at the actual wiring install of the Messiah 2 to see if the points are the same or not. I was just kinda curious.
