question about card slide trick...
question about card slide trick... –

i was going through several threads abut the card slide trick, but i still never got the answer that i was looking for...
my question is, im planning to buy fire pro wrestling Z. now, im supposed to buy a magic 3.1 from my friend (cuz he has an extra one), but i dont know how to solder it, and know no one that will solder it for me...oh i could try computer city, but i HIGHLY doubt they would even consider it.
as i was looking for different alternatives, i noticed the card trick method. seems good, and i read the risks involved like how it would ruin your motor or something..but eh, its only fire pro. so i made a card, and voila! it opens the tray. great.
do i still need a gameshark/swap magic to play imports? or does that only pertain to burned games and what not. i remember back with the PS1, we could play imports, burnt games, what have you, by doing a smiliar thing. you just needed something small that will push down on the button while the lid is open, and then quickly swap the disk with the import. all without a gameshark.
sorry for the long post and if its confusing, but any help is appreciated. OH and by the way, anyone know of a place that does solder chips near the santa clara area?

Yes you still need GS2/AR2 or Swap Magic to use the card swap trick.

I agree 100%. Don't jam anything into your PS2 to force the tray open. The flip-top is even better than the no-solder mod - you're not forcing anything that way.

you can alaways sue the company for false advertising for saying it won't break your ps2 and then make enough money to buy a pre-mod messiah :-D
