    my god, that is simple..

    Rough translation....

    mechacon crash

From its exit, the console Pstwo slim demonstrated an independent series of problems to the assembly of a modchip.
Often it is arrived to attribute the cause of these problems to a circle of running ecessive on the load (failure Rs2004).
After an attentive analysis, in these 2 months from the presentation of the Puppet Fix,
we can attribute the problematic one to a ?block? of the with regard circuiteria to the servomeccanismi.
The Mechacom (servant mechanism) was ridisegnato maintaining pressochè the same present componentistica in
    the old one I model.
The caricamento in this new version was planned in manner that there be 2 switch of recognition LD ON and COVER ON.
L??LD ON? (servant DSP to Optical Block Power ON) is the order that the servant DSP sends to the optic group.
The ?COVER ON? is the closing drawer.

    -Analysis

In The phase of opening/closing exists a smaller delay between l?entered in management of two switch,
we noted that this type of delay carves in heavy manner on the cycle
of operation of the Mechacom sending in crash the servant DSP:
a time in crash the running one in circle on the coils is so high to melt the pick-up.

    Solution

Dismissing l?LD ON and cortocircuitando the 2 points in figure is possible to obviate the crash,
as it not it is created an indefinite state on the Mechacom; in this condition the
servant continuous DSP to work moderately, avoiding you overload to the Coils.

In other words, bypass on e of the lid switches it seems

If this is proven to work, its so simple I can even manage it myself. I just got my modded ps2 from darkmaster2 ( not feeling upto doing a ps2 with the tools I have to hand, through I did an xbox just fine before ), with summm0ne's fix, and so far what little I've prodded has been ok, but before I get a memory card ( sometime next week ) its not going to get any extensive testing, if this mod is proved to help within a few days, I'll definately apply it myself, heres hoping!

i dont understand how this can work.. mechcon crashes occur during games while the lid is shut. this simply makes the ps2 think the lid it shut permanatly.

instead of removing the switch, just put some hot glue, some blu tak or some sticky tape over it.

A far as I could make out of that, something to do with the two lid signals close being slightly apart from each other could trigger a crash on boot/load? awaiting someone that knows italian/knows whats going on with this stuff to be a bit more informative..

i disagree that a mechcon crash occur while playing games
all of my dead pstwo's (9) laser died when swapping or turning on the system
none off them died while playing

i gonna try this on a couple of pstwo and will see how it turns out
