PSTwo not playing copies anymore
PSTwo not playing copies anymore –

Uhm, I'm a noob to this, but I bought a PSTWO with matrix infinity sometime ago, it had version 1.38 on it, I was playing games fine, untill I tried to update, I burned the 1.54 cd and updated on my PSTWO, then I turned it off and back on, suddenly a black screen came with the matrix logo on it, and nothing else was happening, after some time I restarted the PSTWO and it booted fine, but I can't play copies anymore.. the red screen appears saying to put in a ps1 or ps2 game while trying to boot a copy.. So am I fuxored or what? I tried searching the matrix site as well as other places, but no success...
Also i've seen multiple threads about the lens braking your PStwo, what's the deal with that? I've been noticing the PSTwo has been going really warm when playing games...

Sounds like you got a Modbo, which happens to be an Infinity Clone.

No wonder that chip was 15 euro, now I'm quessing I can't do anything anymore?
[edit]Also just found out it was Matrix infinity SE, wich happens to be a clone too.. glad I still got my ps2 alive tho, now I can buy the lens fix and an original matrix infinity.

Oh, thanks man, just found out after an inside look that it's a green modbo 1.2 after all, I'm willing to give it a shot. Thanks again.
