PSTwo laserfix problems
PSTwo laserfix problems –

Hi,
Ive tried Slimline Fix v4, Subzero fix with Summ0ne and XIV fix on my PSTwo, but no luck... Slimline fix doesnt even start pstwo to standby, with subzero machine wont read PS1/CD-R discs and with XIV when it should boot disc it shutsdown the console. Ive tried with new lasers and everything... Mobo is GH-032-11. Anyone got any idea how i can make one of the fixes to work? Modchip is Matrix Infinity with 1.88 fw. Ive done hundreds of PStwo mods and never had this kind of problem.

Why don't you just make it simple and install the summ0ne's fix by itself?

I also had that problem with the Comsoft fix (system won't even power on) this is why I stoped modding v12 systems.

This has only happened to me on a few occasions. It was resolved by raising the resistors value on line J to 1800 or 2000 ohms. The summ0ne fix in is a very poor fix in my eyes. I have found that it makes the laser work much harder. I have had more then a few consoles that show up here that cant read any discs. When I remove the summ0ne fix and replace it with a Comsoft V4 the laser then boots. If you use just the diode portion of the summ0ne fix you will be alight. But the Comsoft V4 fix is just an all round better fix for the V12's.

I don't think summ0ne's fix makes the laser work harder. It just makes the laser less capable of burning itself out. I've been using the fix and I haven't had a console fry on me yet. But I do agree that comsoft fix is more advance.

I have to disagree with you. I have seen the lasers wear out much faster with the summ0ne fix. I have also proven it many times to myself simply by removing the summ0ne fix, weak lasers will then read discs when it couldnt with the summ0ne fix in place.

comsoft is better than summone fix because it does not deal with the gain in the focus/tracking channels. summone fix makes the laser picky for media because the resistors reduced too much gain making the laser difficulty to read.
the subzero fix is not bad without the the resistors on tracking/focus. use it in conjunction with replacing 2x30k resistor with 2x100k in tracking channel as sony did in v12.2 consoles. maybe it's too much to do, so comsoft v4 is better.
