    Hey all,

I just bought this unit this week and I have had databank and r04 dvdr movies playing 24 7 for 2 days and no hickups yet. I had glitches on a princo but princos are cheap so thats understandable.

The console is fairly hot about as hot as a chipset sits on a computer mobo

So....should i chip it? One of my local installers say let it run for 2 months first - if it frys get a warranty.

    Thx for any info

I asked myself the same question. But with all the the success compared to failures, odds are in your favor that youll be fine. There were quite a few people on here that modded their PSTwo when the first solution came out and their units are still running strong.

Im happy that my modded v12s are working great and I am slwly stepping into the Premod availability of these consoles given I buy it and test it before I offer it up for sale.

It will be fine ,just remember to do the summ0ne's fix aswell, but its allways better to wait and just test it a little bit more.

    Thanks for the advise all.

However Im getting frame lag in a couple of dvds now, should this be cause for concern? I remember reading someone on here just sends them to sony for warranty when they do this?

If it is very bad or the sound goes out of sync dont be afraid to send it back.

I dont know exactly how they do it in your country, but here in South Africa, they replace it with a new one if its less than a week old,and send it in for repairs if its older, but Im sure it is different than in your country.

Ps if the sound is out of sync there is no need to even test enay thurder just send it back.

Ok thx for the advise all will return to store tommorow. Hoping theyll just swap it over.

For the record it was only sound lagging with one disc, on the second time around. But it's consistant in this case. Anyhow, heres hoping for a flawless unit with the next straw drawn
