Psone imports is upshifted on TV –

hi,
i have a 30004 Pal ps2 with a messiah2 chip inside (that's what the installer made me believe soo..)
when i play pal psone games, everything plays normal.
i just dubbelreset from startup.
but when i insert a PS1 import (original game NTSC) the whole screen is upshifted for a quarter of the screen..
i know for 100% i don't have a problem with my tv cause my imports on xbox and ps2 games play perfectly.
can it be the fault of the chip ? and can be done to avoid this problem? help is much apreciated!

I'm not sure, but the M2 has the full screen NTSC support, if I remember correctly. In this case, you have either a clone M2, (maybe a Magic or the Accessor) or your game is already patched (of course in a wrong way) and that causes the screen shift.

'm testing with orignal imports no copies or patched ones..

So then you don't have the original Messiah2 but a clone...

shit , so this kind of behaviour is a modchip fault then?

Yes, if that doesn't support the full screen NTSC support on PAL machines/TV's you'll get a shifted picture. Unfortunatelly a lot of mods do not support it, the ones I know of which correctly handle this problem are: DMS3, Matrix, Matrix MXL2, Messiah 1-2, NH3. The ones that do not support it: Magic 3, Magic 3.1, Accessor, Hypper 1, Hypper 2 Deluxe. Of course there are many more, but I have worked with them only.
Anyway it's not a "fault" of the mod but a limited feature, that is not programmed into the mod. Anyway, I bet you have a clone Messiah 2.
regards, Stephen
