PS5 fuse for fan –
I have a PS2 v7 with a Magic V chip installed. Initially all was fine until the fan quit running. From reading through the forums and testing the PS5 fuse has gone. Seperately testing the fan shows it is fine. To Tried to bridge PS5 fuse (temporarily) with a wire to check/confirm fan would run..... but it doesnt. All else seemed fine until an operator error removing standby/eject cable. Can anyone tell me if this cable would stop fan working ? Pressing buttons still operate PS2 ie open close tray and turn on/off except no lights. What else could stop the fan working ie why did the bridge trick not work. Saw a similiar post where it shows hard wiring to point close to fan plug. Does anyone have a diag for a GH-022 board for doing this ?
Eject cable would not be at fault...
couple of things may have happened:
Fan connector stuffed
Fan cable stuffed (two wires)
Fuse for fan stuffed although your tests seem to indicate otherwise...
power circuit for fan stuffed - hence the blown fuse...
