ps2 version .. confused

the back of my system says it's a 39001 .. from what i've seen, that means it's a V7.

however .. looking at the instructions for installing the Matrix Infinity on a V7, i can't find one part in the picture.

how can i be sure which PS2 version i have?

a 39001 should definitely be a V7/8... Are you sure you have the right diagram? are you looking close enough?

edit: aha .. it was on the underside of the board. is that normal?

Yes that is supposed to be on the underside.

it didn't say that anywhere in the instructions. >_<

then again .. the "instructions" for this is just a picture with labels ..
