Ps2 version 12 (slimline) Dead
Ps2 version 12 (slimline) Dead –
07-29-2005,03:34 PM
Hello ppl,
I have a version 12 ps2 that's currently dead. It has worked, in fact it worked before i modded it. I applied the version 4 laser fix and then modded it with a matrix infinity homebrew. Now i have no power.
I checked the cut track and everything meters out, also checked the onboard fuse and that's fine.
Dont know what else to check.
Any ideas?
Thanx in advance,

Best thing to do is remove the chip and the laser fix and then see if it still works and try over again.

Possibly broke the solder joints on the power button.
Its easy to do.

Its something simple but I cant remember what.
I'm sure I have seen this before.
Make sure you don't have any bridges on the mobo.
Some are really hard to see so use some flux and desoldering braid to quick clean the solder spots and go from there.
Also make sure all 4 points of the power button are soldered.
I think it may have been wires misplaced when this happened before.

hi, standard error ....short circ. somewhere!
take a multimeter and check continuity to gnd on all connections on the chip.
if you cannot find any short... check ps11 ---> could be blown.
