PS2 v7 Messiah2 Pro problems

I've installed a Messiah2 Pro into a freinds PS2, it boots but now won't reconise original ps2 games and dvd-r's it pops up the browser for but won't boot them

any one had this problem before?

any suggestions (I've triple checked all wires and can't see anything wrong w/ the solder joints) welcome

From what you say it won't boot anything - is that right? Have you checked the troubleshooting Guide for Messiah2?

uninstalled the chip and it works (boots real games) installed it gives me the red screen for real games and the browser for copyed games but won't load them

k, i got 2 chips (one for another freinds ps2 (version 4 tho and its a little fiddley on the chip solders so i aint installed the chip yet just half of the wires) so i'll try that one in the v7 and see if it works

OK, I've changed the modchip for another one and this is is mutch the same except for now original disks don't get the red screen they get the browser but still fail to boot disks so I'm guessing it aint the chips, is there any other wires i should recheck other then the ones listed in the trubbleshooting guide at the end of the PDF guides?

It is not clear from your writing if you de installed only the chip or de installed all the wires from the soldering point on the board.
In this case try to de solder the wires from the chip only, isolate the ends and try to test the machine with originals games.
If it works, solder the wires again to the chip and this time try to test it with out putting the metal case. Be very careful when you do it. REMEMBER! Operate the machine for very short time without the metal case.
I don't know the location of the chip on the board, there is a possibility that when you screw the metal case it touch and short the chip, if this is the case try to change the chip location.

I've tryed it by covering the chip w/ paper in case its shoting out aint tryed it w/ just the wires desoldered from the chip tho, i'll try that in the morning

Might be when wires are compressed with the metal case on the bared ends touch.

I've insulated all the solders
I also removed the power, ground, clk & sesx from the modchip and it booted originals but when i soldered em back onto the modchip it won't boot anything just the browser screen says there ps2 games
