We try to avoid that sort of stuff around here...
We'll based on my attempts, and follow-through research.. The latest PS2 versions (V6/V7 or so... the ones starting with SCPH39001) do not work with the physical cog-swap/knife tricks..
I built the card in the reference url on this thread, and it worked well to get the tray out and to disengage, but the machine failed to boot every single time. I think you need an earlier version of console in order for that to work even occasionally..
Knife swap should work fine on a V7 (3900x) model, but not with GS2/AR2. You would need the Swap Magic discs.Originally posted by Vapor

do they sell swap magic dics at any of the local electronics stores???
if one of those electronics stores sells import games and possibly modchips, then there is an off chance that it may have swap magic discs..
