ok, so i installed a v4 no solder mod chip in my system. I then put in the swap magic boot disk to play a game. The swap disk boots up, i press eject, the light turns orange. I then swap the disks and let the tray close by itself. I press X so the game will start. the swap magic screen turns blue, and i say, "yay, its going to work." But guess what. It doesn't! It just goes to a black screen and stays there. CAN ANYONE PLEASE PLEASE hELP!?

I have a similar setup, but with the Lusifer chip. I had the same problem, but what I have to do for the Lusifer is when the screen says "Insert Disk" I have to hold the eject button down for 3 seconds, then the swap the discs. I was getting the red border until I did it this way. Hope that helps...

    hi guys

it all depends whether the game you're trying to boot is 74 mins or less.

you see the stealth (v4 non solder chip) can only play games which are 74min or less on cd (DVD is different) as it can't boot games which are more than that!

thats the only downside of having a non solder chip (i know coz i got one!)

I have a v4 no solder mod, and just let me say it sux a$$, to say the least. First in order of advice... get a real mod chip! I'm getting my apple chip installed today (horray!!!)

Ok, but for real, as i said i have the no mod, and what I found out thru my trials and tests, and about 100 coasters, is that no matter what i do, or what is suggested to do, the game will still not work! There are only a handfull of games, ::sob:: that will work with the no solder chips.

I found a place that sells backups that tells u if it will work with no solder chips (Edit by Mod: Dont post links to backups/warez sites), and sadly, I believe they're right. (The majorty of these people d/l and burn the games off the net anyway)

All the games that i've gotten to work are on this list, and the ones that didnt work, say they won't work.

For the game you are trying to get to work it has an "x" by which means to ask, which means it usually don't work.

If you insist on keeping your no solder chip, then I'd bookmark this site, and see if the game you wanna backup is on this list and it'll work for you, otherwise you're just gonna be blowing your time and money.

    I learned the hard way!

    hope this helps!

I'm getting a no solder v. 4 mod in the mail, and should get it in a few days. but when i found out that they don't support games over 652.5 mb, i wasn't happy! I was wondering if i should get the neo key external usb mod and use both of them at the same time.. it's only 20 bucks, and it plays all cd-r even 80 min games.. but it doesn't support dvd-r, which the no solder mod DOES. I think these two would make an ideal combination! I'm afraid that it may F*CK up my PS2, or just not work, so i will lose 20 bucks... can anyone offer advice? thanks

also, i DON'T WANT TO SAUTER ANYTHING! I know the usb mod requires a wire to be soldered, but it is very simple compared to hte others!

You hold the button until the drive ejects, then swap the discs, and after 5 seconds the tray will pull itself back in, then you can play, assuming you are playing a Swap Magic compatible game, and the copy does not have a TOC over 74mins.
