PS2 V10 Magic V 5K6 - Need Advice

I installed a 5K6 modchip and the system will boot fine to the browser/configuration screen. However, when I insert any DVD into the drive, it just brings up the Browser menu. When that gold CD/DVD icon is selected, it accesses the CD, then just returns again to the Browser menu.

Neither originals nor backups will work.

Any suggestions on what specific points to double-check or resolder? I was pretty thorough looking for any kind of solder splash.

Try using using twisted ground wires for your point R. Or use more shield wire for the point R like at least 26 guage. Lay the R wire flat on the motherboard and away from the other wire.
