PS2 v.5 + Magic2 how to apply GS2/AR2 codes?

What is the right procedure to make GS2/AR2 codes work with PS2+Magic2 modchip?
Today I tried GSv2.3 codes with Maximo back-up and in the first time I played it with codes. The tray opened alone I swapped the discs , pressed "X" (the tray closed) and PRESTO the game loaded with codes. But....later I tried the same procedure many times and I didn't get the back-up even to boot
Was I just lucky in the first time? I can't realise what I am doing wrong
And what about AR2 with dongle? No success with it too...

i don't think you can. there's supposed to be a z-wire on your chip that will allow that to happen (use modchiop for gameshark purposes)

not even sure if that works....well in any case mine doesn't so i guess there's no solution

some people it works, some don't, but check the z-wire on your chip

Some of the magic 2s don't support it. I think the green one doesn't, but the red one does I believe.

yea it was mostly the red ones that worked.....i know this because i went crazy trying to get my greenie to work.....i dont remember much but i think there was a way to get some of the green ones to work by using codebreaker and doing a certain trick.......guichi told me how to do it but i forgot....maybe search for it...

Thank you guys, you all helped much.I will investigate the possibilties. I will open it and see the color of the chip.And I will look arround abt any trick that can be done in order to make it happen too, I also have codebreaker.Thanks.
