I put a switch in beween the force output point and both gnd and 3v for a guy who had that between countries a lot problem. Now it can swithc from NTSC to PAL, but it only covers the color fix, the framerate issue he solved with a better t.v. But either way, all export model ps2's seem identical to me, exept for software, and that fix has nothing to do with the chip, but I always force NTSC output whenever I install one. The guy with the switch was stoked, and came out ahead, since he was lugging two consoles around, and got to sell one off, finally.
I'm in Hawaii, were so close I could talk to you on my C.B., I hear Nigel better than my neighbors. If you don't have anyone in N.Z. who installs, I guess I'm the closest to you, I'd be weary anyone, anywhere in Asia, I can get a brand new N.A. NTSC ps2, modchip it to play anything, and force it to PAL output with a tiny switch, so you can play anything on it, anywhere, and I can do it for less than $399. How's $300, if you pay the shipping you want, it'll only have to go one way. I've done radio repairs (or at least had them done properly) for people out there, I understand you dilema. One guy got his Radio back, only cause I knew who had it, and he had one coming, so I just took it out of the thiefs car one night (I was mad at that D.H., anyway) left him a thank you for all the extras note, in it's owners name, and mailed all of it back to N.Z., to the poor guy who thought he'd never see it again. And all the work he'd wanted was done, but the D.H never did call him. FREEBIE.
