PS2 trouble with Matrix Infinity
PS2 trouble with Matrix Infinity –
10-19-2006,07:15 PM
I installed a Matrix Infinity modchip in my PS2 and it worked fine for a few days and then it stopped working. The eject light doesn't turn on and the tray doesn't come out and the screen stays black. I removed the modchip and checked the fuses and the PS12 fuse was blown, so I replaced it, but I still have the same problem.

Try removing the chip. Check the board for solder balls and bridges. They might be the source of your blown fuse.

You might have a blown BA chip
Check your rest/eject ribbon cable also. Does the rest light come on red when in standby? When you press reset does it turn green but gives you a black screen and no eject light?

The BA is the chip that drives your laser. It also controls the tray eject. When it blows normally PS11 blows as well and it also gives the symptoms you are describing. With out having it in my hands I cant be 100% sure but it sure sounds like it.
