    Hi guys.
My PS2 decided to something very strange. It has been working with no problems at all. Just yesterday i decided to wack it on, and all of a sudden the electricity decided to trip out. I though it must be something else and not the PS2.
So checked it out and found that when ever i plug in the PS2 it trips the electricity to the entire house. I checked the back of it, and I could smell a typical electrical burn smell. Somthing blown but dont know what? Any ideas?

    Many thanks for your help!

Check the fuse in the P/S, but I suspect the power supply (or power cord) has an internal short which is causing the circuit breaker to trip at the main panel in your house.

Methinks you'll need a new P/S, which should be fairly easy locate and then to swap out. When you fire it back up afterwards, you'll have a better idea if any of the fuses on the motherboard blew when the P/S let loose. No way of telling until you replace the current P/S.

This whole experience should teach you NEVER to whack on a PS2...
