PS2 Soldering Advice (CD/DVD Controller)

For the V4 Magic 2, can I use the CD/DVD controller legs, as in your Messiah guide? I don't want to touch those vias, and I feel 10X better going with legs and the blade trick. I get the impression they're the same, but I want to make sure before I go and do it, everything else has gone ok due to your advice so far. Thanks in advance. Almost there!

Yes you can. The points correspond. The most important piece of advice I have offered in this context relates to the .10 mm tip and 32 awg wire or its swg equivalent. That will, in conjunction with the razor blade, avoid bridges.
