I do have 2 system with fried lasers that stop the spindle from spinning. Replace the laser and it spins up again and reads everything correctly.Originally Posted by mikearama

Yes Mike, you are wrong on that point. The PS2 goes through a check of the disc when the tray is closed. At this point, you will see the disc like it's trying to spin, but doesn't even go over 1/4 of a turn. This is because the laser is completely shot and the PS2 doesn't detect any disc in the tray. Hence it doesn't spin because it doesn't think it needs to.
thx 4 all your reply's again, and sorry for my late reply im busy as hell ARGH
i must note, after the problems, i removed the chip and want to keep it UNmoddded until it works with originals again! so no A-I points connected at this time....
and i found out the hard way the Matrix Diode Fix was crap :/ so this one is removed, and i got me 560 and 4,7k Ohm resistors to fit in!!
to make sure, i triple checked all the fuses again, especially ps14.. and they ARE NOT broken.... i added a picture, to make sure we are talking about the right smd, right right here
now im gonna check some things again, put summone fix in it and put it back together, and ill post my findings tommorrow!
Hello,
I have the same problem here.
Did you ever got your ps2 fixed ?
