PS2 Slim lens dead?

Hi all!

First of all, I know that this subject as been discussed to exaustion, but here it goes anyway. I've searched and read a lot of answers, but never quite understood everything.

I think my lens is dead.
I can read CDs, but DVDs don't even spin.
Is this a dead lens?
This may be a stupid question, but is there a way to bring it back to life? If not, how can I figure out the lens model so I can buy a new one?

If I understood correctly, there are various types of lens for the V12 (two?).
How can I know which type it is?

Buy the whole unit, only cost couple of bucks more, and then u dont have to think about what lens type it is (correct me if im wrong)
