PS2 with Ripper 2

I've got a PS2 V5 and I've just fitted a Ripper 2 modchip to it (by the way this is my first attempt at this).

Anyway the PS2 boots up OK it plays originals fine, but does not play any PS2 backups. I've tried different media's as well.

As for DVD movies, it plays region 2 (PAL) fine but plays Region 1 (NTSC) in black and white. Backup DVD movie seem fine.

Can anyone shed any light on this. My main aim is to be able to play PS2 backups.

you need a scart cable for dvd movies (ntsc) to be played in colour. with dvd backups, boot the ps2 into the browser(switch on without any discs in the ps2) then insert the back up dont hit reset and the ps2 will boot
