ps2 problems

have a v4 gap bios, installed a magic 3.1 in it, everything works fine and dandy. then, because im an idiot, i dropped the damn thing on the floor (dont ask how, its a really stupid story). it fell maybe a total of 2 feet onto a hardwood floor. i was scared and went and tested it, and it still works fine, EXCEPT now my dvd-r games boot slower, and the music sometimes fades in and out (especially noticable on sc2 and dw4). was wondering if maybe i screwed up the laser? maybe adjusting the pots will work? any solutions would be appreciated.
