PS2 Power Cord - Does it matter which way it's inserted?

Just wondering because it's 'notched' to only allow it to go in the one way, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't matter as it's AC current. But I just thought I would double-check this to see if anyone know for sure.

Don't worry, I use my xbox cord to test ps2 and it works both ways.

That's what I thought. I also use my PS2 cord (with the square side trimmed for my xbox.
