PS2 Pad came off
Yes I ordered a magic mod chip and was installing it. I only had a couple of wires left. Well when I finished the wires one came off. Well the wire was not the only thing that came off. The metallic area also came off, like it was pulled off. This process also happened on my ps2. How can I apply it back on. I have heard about things getting to hot and melting but these did not melt and you can still see them on the solder. Let me know whats best.
The one on the PS2 board is the one for the backside of the motherboard which goes with the cd/dvd drive(A silver square). Now this will make the above make since. I have a pad on the chip that came off and whatever the name is came off of the PS2, which fits the above statement(cd/dvd drive, on backside of motherboard). I am sure they can be repaired , but I do not know the materials needed. However I think the cause of the problem was to less wire b/c it is kind of tight.
Please inform me of a correct procedure fix this, so I can use the Magic2 modchip.
Thanks for your time and interest.

Pads coming off are a common problem mainly caused by overheating the pad.
Depending of the pad type, you may be lucky or not.
If the pad isn't connected to underneath pcb layer, you simply need to "follow" the pad connection and solder your wire to the closest IC pin by example.
If it's not possible, verify if the pad was connected to a visible copper trace, you can "scratch" the solder mask (green ink applied to protect the PCB) and solder your wire directly on the remaining trace.
However, if the pad was actually a buried via (a via is a connection between pcb layers), then, you you can try to put NO-CLEAN flux (this helps the solder to "stick") in the hole and then try to solder your wire.
