Ps2 Modchip Question Noob

whats the best and reliable modchip to buy im getting one soon and i wanna make sure im not gonna have any future probs with it and i dont know if all of them can run games off a HD but it has to be able to run games off of the HD and if theres anything else i need to buy for the modchip to work with the HD let me know. everyone has told me not to get a solderless modchip i need a good reason why im not to get one i dont know anyone who has one ether plus i havent soldered modchips in but it wont really be a problem for me to do it just please give me the best advice you can give

man, this is like asking everyone what the best car is. and of course everyone is gonna give a different answer and confuse you more. this is no different.

any chip will work some use on board flash for homebrew Progs(updated HDloader)Dms4,Matrix,and use bolth.
Christal and H20 use memorycard. Christal,Dms4,Matrix can update by CD-R. H20 you need your mod seller to flash it.

This flash stuff means the chip can be upgraded/reprogrammed with new firmware(using cds, mem card or usb drive) to add new features or solve bugs.

Hi I need help with my modchip. It has different modes with a combination of lights green, yellow, red using a Gameshark to swap disks. I don't know how to boot a DVD-r. Please Help.

its says on the crystal chip site that it doesnt play back ups is there a chip that can play avi files like if i wanted to watch a movie on there could i play the files of a disc?

Crystal boots backups, imports etc. fine, just their official firmware has anything legally questionable disabled. That doesn't matter though, ussually within a day of them releasing a new version of official firmware, there's a hacked version which does everything.
