you mean like the Dexdrive?
they never made a "dexdrive" for the ps2. i believe it has to do with the magicgate encryption incorporated into the memcard. all memsave devices require the ps2 to "unlock" the magicgate encryption. so all save devices for the ps2 need some sort of link to the ps2, whether through usb or networking.
I think the Datel XPort does what you want--kinda. I believe it allows you to transfer saves to and from your memory card (using the PS2).
If you are looking for something more along the lines of free, there's pukklink and naplink which make use of the network adapter...
if u use pukklink or naplink or ps2client how do you transfer the saves to the MC and wut kind of format would you use?
lik-sang.com and gocybershop.ca both have a few memcard things like the dexdrive for the PS2, and there's the XPort, like kugeln mentioned.
