PS2 Magic2 wont play dvd or PS1

Ok, thought i was in the clear.
My PS2 wont play dvd or PS1 games now. PS2 and PS2 backups work fine.
Ideas anyone? I think I may have screwed up the 3.3v connection. First I connected the 3.3v wire to the little cap. After looking at the pics again I removed it and put it in the little hole the arrow is actually pointint to. In the process I may have screwed up the cap. in fact I am pretty sure i did.

help....

forget it, i should have read through the troubleshooting page.
i can get ps1 and dvd to run now, but i need the 1 uF cap installed.
