ps2 lens –
01-26-2004,01:49 PM
I have a v2 palystation that doesn't play burnt DVD discs. The original DVD movies have no problem playing. I have cleaned the laser and still doesn't work. I will adjust the cog to bring the lens closer to the DVD. If this doesn't work, will a new laser solve the problem? If so, does anyone know a good place to get the laser, and will any 400c laser work for my v2?

Has anyone encountered this same problem with a v2 and found that adjusting the cog and pots was all that was needed?

never actually had the cogs fix a problem but have found 8 out of ten times that a clean and a pot adjust will fix.

sup guys,
here my prob. " dres on the dvds and original ps2 games, but plays audio cds fine!" WTF
Ive been surfin the threads, readin and readin. I dunno ive been tryin to get this v3 workin for hours.Maybe theres yet somethin ive missed posted on here. I have cleaned the lens half a dozen times. The lens adjustments ive been playin with like crazy. And the pods well Ive only adjusted the dvd, which WAS at about 819. I knocked it down to about 735. I know i shouldnt have gone below 800 but ive gone this route to see if it made a diffrence.NADA I'm starting to belive that the lens is N/G?
This console was dropped mildly i guess you can say. The slide seems to be level and functioning fine. I dunno what else to do.
