PS2 hanging at loading screen

HI. I have a version 7 ps2 and have a problem of my backup games (so far nfs undergrond, kingdom hearts). For some reason they hang or freeze at the loading screen, and loaded up to this point. I had used different dvd-rs before but am not sure if its the new memorex version 2.0 discs that are causing the problem. If this is the case please refer me to some dvd-rs that work with my ps2 and are realivity low in price. I would prefer being able to go to a store to get these as i am in a hurry.

Could really be anything. Have you tried other backups? Can you take the ones you have made to another modded PS2 to test? Could be your chip/install. Could be the media (my guess). Could be the laser (unlikely). I recommend Ritek DVD-rs, but you have to order them. If you weren't in a hurry, you can get these much cheaper than even Memorex or other generics at any store. Less than $1 per disc online...

How are you burning? Are you using a Magic 3 by any chance? It is known for its freezing problem with Kingdom Hearts.

Well i know its not my ps2 since it works fine with dvd-r rips and dvd-r games. And in the past i used other dvd-rs and they worked fine for games like metal gear solid and final fantasy. Im using primodvd to copy my games. I just installed this program, loaded my .gi and then burned, i didnt change any other options, could this be a problem as well

Please refer me to some dvd-rs that i can use for ps2,xbox, and movies. I woud again prefer some that i can get from a store.
