ps2 dvd-rs work but not cd-r

us v7 ps2...

just finished installing a magic3.1

everything works EXCEPT ps2 cd-r...

brand new ps2, used only to see if it worked originally

argh

any ideas?

yeah, v7 lasers are tweaked to not like recordable media, since they have less reflectivity than pressed games.

its not that i didnt believe you guichi, i didnt think a brand new v7 would come with a crappy laser that wont play cd-r...

BUT IT PLAYS PSX CD-R!!!! why would it play psx cd-r and not ps2 cd-r?

argh...

im not messing with the pots... would the azimuth (sp?) work? or the other... the sliding track one...?

read my above post. it has nothing to do with the fact that it's new.
