Hi as u proberbly know by now i have a v4 ps2 with a failed messiah install.
I took it out and all works originals etc!!
I tried to do the 4 wire messiah 1 check and nothing booted (laser clicking!!)
I took the 4 wires off and STILL nothing boots laser clicking, I have tried all adgustments and the laser was a new 1 from |Sony!!
Please NOTE: the browser recognises the originala as a (blue) ps2 disk!!!
Can it be the scex
Sorry about all these posts ( i have installed about 25 ps2 with no probs before) - what a start to the new year?!?!

By reductio ad absurdam, I'd say you might have:- Not put the cables back again right.
- dropped some solder somewhere
- damaged a component that you were soldering at

I reckon the SCEX point might be damaged?!?/, can this be fixed or is there an alternative place?!?

You've got to sort the problem of laser clicking first. No modchip, rmember.

This is driving me mad?!?!
It's working fine again?!?
Right I'm gonna stop posting and pass this flippin pieceof2 (ps2) to my m8 to install.

Diagnose mode isn't at all well publicised. But what it does is to allow the laser to recalibrate itself according to the reflectivity of the disk involved. You have turned up an interesting possibility that will be tentatively recommended in the next similar case.

No probs all of a sudden the screen stayed with a blue screen and was spinning normal with no clicking, I then pressed x and games loaded fine, now all set.
PLEASE NOTE: Don't try it straight away and u have to wait at least 10/15 mins.
BTW charlie - to try a messia with 4 wire (psx method) do the psx games have to be pal or will ntsc do?!?!?

Hmmm
Interesting how does one put a Ps2 into diagnose mode?
Maybe I'm stupid but I've learnt over the years if you dont ask you remain stupid

I did it once, and what i believe they're reffering to is to press the triangle button on main menu(electrons whirling), and press triangle again on console, and it'll say diagnostic on/off. I think that's how it goes, but i'm not sure, i only did it once. And I thought that procedure was useless...
