PS2 copied games, online capable?

Hi,

If you have your PS2 modified and you make a copy of say, Madden 2004. Can you play online with others or would you need the original disc? From what I hear, you can't play on the xbox live using at modified xbox. They can read the bios system. Since you don't have to register to play online, can we get away with playing online or can they block copied games?

sure you can, if you can turn the mod off.

That's the tricky part. How do you turn off the mod? I have a Messiah 2 Pro v1.30 in my ps2. Is there a way to turn it off? I have socom II original disc and pretty much sucks not being able to play it online. Are they in development to get the PS2's to play online?

hold reset when booting until the screen with the flying blocks comes on. thats the way to put a messiah2 into sleep mode.

Thanks a lot. I'm still a little bumed out that I can't play back up games online. I never thought PS2 had that type of feature where they can block your system from accessing the servers.
