I posted this on the fileforums.com but i want to post here also. I installed a magic 2 R mod - worked for about a night of gaming, then the next day, when i took it home - the fan didn't work.

For some reason now - out of the freggin' blue - the fan isn't coming on - so the ps2 is shutting itself down after a couple minutes of being on. My fan works on another ps2 console so it appears to be the motherboard connector.

anyone have a schematic for the fan assembly? is there a point on the motherboard we can solder the fan directly to - and bypass the fan jumper?

it is a blown fuse on the motherboard. which one - I have no clue.
As of now I have external power to the fan via a 800ma multivoltage ac adapter. My fan now has variable speed settings
3v slow cool to 12v monster cool.

but if you could find the blown fuse that would be ideal.

hello sorry took so loong to get back.. i got mine working and it was a fuse on my board mine was on a v5 the fuse was marked S7 locoated left of the white fan plug(just over 10cm and slightly up) if you have an multi metre test the fuses out on your board and you should find it the fuses are marked up s7,30 and 50 replace the fuse and your fan should work.
