It must be noted that CDRs and CDs do not spin!!!
While all DVD-Rs and DVDs spin, but of course without
beind recognised from the machine.
Laser clicks on any kind of media and probably needs
to be adjusted, but I need some help.
Will this information help at all????

Did you wire B&C correctly?
Charlie thank you for your answer but
the console behaves the same way when i completeley
remove the chip.
Do you have any ideas on this?

A bridge may have developed on the CD/DVD Controller. A solder ball may have rolled into a sensitive position.
If the tray open and the disc spin, u could have just unplugged some cables on the dvd drive -> board ?
OK I will check for soldier balls.....
MeryD could you then explain why DVDs spin an CDs do not????
