I installed a matrix infinity chip , on a V7 ps2 board. And all I got was a blue screen , which I assume to be no video. removed the chip and same result , now I stupidly didn't test the unit prior to installation.

You probably shorted the bios chip's leg or something. Check the board for solder balls and shorts.
Thanx for the input m8 , but I have spent a little under 3 hours looking for em, I could be wrong but I'm quite confident that that isn't the problem
